Happy New Year! I've got everything ready for the Web site update tomorrow, including a new haiku and a revised release schedule through 2008. It's not by any means a complete release schedule. It just goes beyond this year with current projects that extend that far. Right now The Penny Dreadful is the only thing announced past 2006, but Nightfire will be too, and of course there will be other books announced. The Penny Dreadful is what I used to refer to as "Project P." It's going to be written in the format of the old penny dreadfuls of the nineteenth century, sixteen pages an issue, and it will only be available as exclusive mini-books directly from the Web site. That'll be starting up in March. Two books should see print this year. The first, of course, is Metrognomes, and the second is The Vampire Murders: From the Chronicles of Nightfire, Texas, which is a collection of the first three episodes of the popular Internet series. I'm planning to start the third cycle of The Chronicles of Nightfire, Texas with #16 the very month after #15. It too will be a twelve-part storyline. And, as always, I have a number of short story ideas for the Web site, which should continue quarterly. The first one I think will be a fantasy story called "The Dragons of Nod." I'd like to have it up this month, but it all depends on cover art. And, I suppose, my writing speed. Working with the youth group is still my top priority, so that means some days I won't be doing any writing at all, which is fine, because nothing else I've done in my life has ever felt so right. I'm looking forward to the year ahead in every way.
