Molly and I didn't meet today, because I was poisoned by my mom on Thursday. She fed me bad chicken. Also bad bananas. I am still dying. TTFN

Officially started the research period for the next twelve episodes of The Chronicles of Nightfire, Texas. I was hoping to have all of the reports finished in six weeks, but the first day was SO tedious and drawn-out. We will see how it goes. Xlibris no longer has my e-book of Cry, Wolf for sale, so I am having to scan the book in order to put together a complete continuity chronology. I was never informed that the e-book was out of print. Maybe there's been a mistake. I'll have to get them to explain it to me. Grrr.

YES!!! I have finished the rough draft of Metrognomes. 35 Chapters, 237 pages, 61,032 words. I went and had it bound at Kinkos so that it would be easier to manage as I red-ink every page. Now I get to RE-write it. On to draft 2.

I haven't been able to work really, because I have infections in both ears, and they won't stop ringing!!! I went to the doctor on Friday, and they gave me three different things to take for the next several days. So maybe I'll be well then. Today I decided to get back to work in spite of my ringing ears. I continued work on Chapter 31. The manuscript is now 3 days late.

Did ACTUAL work on Chapter 31.

Friday, March 12, 2004

Started work on Chapter 31. (Actually, just wrote "31" at the top of the page and hit enter three times.)

Wrote Chapter 30.

Did some more "Nightfire prep work". Updated this log from March 1st through the 7th. Finally met with Molly. I gave her about sixty new pages, and she showed me several sketches. It went well. We decided to skip our meeting scheduled for next week and get back on track with our every two weeks on the 29th.

Did some premature prep work for "Metrognomes II" and the new cycle of Nightfire stories. But not really. That's just a fancy way of saying I had fun with fonts and got little to nothing substantial accomplished. Molly called to confirm our meeting tomorrow. I can't wait.

Another excessively productive day, in which I wrote the number 30 at the top of a new page...and spaced down three times. How I get through days like this I just don't know. Guess it's just my incredible stamina.

Wrote Chapter 29. Molly had to reschedule the meeting AGAIN! She had to work late at her "real" job. (sigh) People shouldn't have to WORK for a living! Where is Santa Clause when you really need him? If I had known the truth about bills when I was a kid, I would have told Santa to hold back on the toys and give me a nice Utopian artists' commune when I grew up. Then we could all just play, write, paint, sing, etc. all day long. And farm I guess. There would be that. But maybe Santa could have provided robot and/or zombie slaves to do things like farming, construction, and sanitation! YES! That's it! That's the perfect solution to all our problems! Now all I need is a time machine so I can make this happen, and don't pester me with your mad delusions about there being no St. Nick, either. I might not be able to cope with you in this present condition. Curse the real world! How it vexes me. Grumble grumble grumble.

Got back to the Metrognomes manuscript. Wrote Chapter 28.

Tuesday, March 02, 2004

I had to reschedule with Molly again! I had fogotten about a previous obligation. (Argh!) Now we are meeting on Thursday.

Updated this log through February 20 on my friends' computer. Dealt with the "Why haven't you done anything yet?!?" e-mail from Amazon.com by opening up the Merchandise page on my web site, which they, weeks ago, approved doing in association with them. The site is nowofficially "In association with Amazon.com" even though I had trouble uploading some of the graphics from their site. Molly and I rescheduled our next Metrognomes meeting for tomorrow night.
