You may have noticed that "The Trial of Ooga Booga" was not released yesterday. I can only apologize and explain that we've run into a delay, for one because Clark Ink ebook template is no longer around, until we get the files off of that disk I blogged about earlier, and we're having to build from scratch in order to have a quality ebook. The whole process has been more time consuming than had originally been anticipated. It is still my hope and goal to have the story up this week! Once this issue is resolved, future publications shouldn't run into this particular setback. Keep checking back for updates!

My new Halloween haiku was posted on the site tonight! Just minutes ago. More haikus will be added weekly for the next several months, as you can plainly see by the relase schedule. :) Yay!

Specific release dates have been added to the release schedule. Haikus come back this Monday, "The Trial of Ooga Booga" will be posted on Wednesday, and Haiku No. 99 has been moved up to May. The Ooga Booga story was set to come out on Monday, but there were some issues that took up two days to resolve, which is why the release is now two days later, but still within the same week.

I'm looking into a number of possibilities that will change the way I do things in the future. Right now, the only literary project I am able to focus on is writing more short stories. I'm looking into getting a disk repaired, or at least retrieving the data, which will prevent me having to rewrite some of my best recent work mostly from scratch. There are some other, larger things I'm looking into as well, and some smaller ones. Just so you know, I'm very busy! I have a lot to do yet in order to get "The Trial of Ooga Booga" released by the 26th, but that is the goal I'm currently shooting for. It's also the day that the new haikus begin their run on the Web site. I may have something fun release before that, or just after, but more on that as efforts coalesce.

Things have been rather operatic lately. Long story short, it seems I'll have more time to dedicate to my writing career from now on, which is a good thing. I still work for the church, but we're in a transitional point in our history right now, and...well...it's just been operatic. I don't want to get started. At least not in this blog. There's too much too tell. A lot of change in the works, and...let's just say I have some serious philosophical and theological differences of opinion with a number of people of influence regarding the importance of youth ministry in the church's future. I think one day...well, I have a lot of thoughts. I've just been assured that there is no room for me to grow, career wise, at the church; so, and if I intend to do anything with my life that does not require me to live in poverty, such as buying a house, raising a family, etc, I need to find a second "dinky" part time job, or get hired on at a church that can pay me more. The problem here is, all churches are in trouble financially, because not many people can afford to tithe during a recession. They are all making cuts, and youth ministry is the first on the list of things to go; and any "dinky" part-time job that I could find, wouldn't hire me anyway, because I'm ridiculously overqualified, and they'd never believe I would stay. I know, because I used to be in retail management. I know how they read resumes.

Fortunately, four years ago, just before I started out as youth program director at the church, I had put together a five-year plan and a business plan for Clark Ink, LLC. So, instead of looking for something new, I've decided to take advantage of the recent suggestion from the ""top" to cut back to part time hours and find a second job. I'm revisiting my earlier plans, which I don't by any means regret putting off for so long. I feel that God wanted me doing exactly what I did at White Rock for the years that I was able, but now, it's time for a change of focus; it's time to let God carry me in a new direction.

I'm putting a lot of hours into getting this company up and running. I'm going to give Metrognomes the push I never had time to give it when it was first released. I'm working on new books, new stories, and new ideas that transcend the printed page, and I'm excited about all of it! My true hope at this point is that building a stronger Glenn outside of the youth work that I do will ultimately add to what I have to offer as a youth worker and a leader in general.

I wrote thirty-three new haikus yesterday, just to get my brain back in the writing game. This takes it to 100, which is, (imagine that!) just the number required for a standard book of poetry. I think I''m retired from the haiku writing business for now. #68-100 have been posted on the release schedule, and the long-delayed short story "The Trial of Ooga Booga" has been rescheduled for this month. That happened yesterday. There are many more announcements in the works, so stay tuned, loyal readers. All of your waiting is about to pay off.

Love ya!
