After bouncing ideas off of my sister over the telephone until her mind was probably numb, I have finally worked out the glitch in my plotlines for "Metrognomes II." Excited as all get out, I began the outline anew. I am much more excited about this one than I was. I was always excited about certain parts of this one, but I was mostly worried, because I couldn't figure out how to keep my two central characters busy, considering all the interesting subplots. Now I have it, and if not for school and work, I'm sure I'd have the outline finished within the week!

I met with Molly and Jay today to discuss interior illustrations for Metrognomes. It was swell. Molly and I picked from her ideas and came up with a few more. I can't wait to see what she comes up with. Her rough sketches are due on May 28, when we will have our next meeting.

I finished redrafting Metrognomes! Then I got ready for the meeting. Jay and Molly both showed up, and it all went very well. Her character designs are fantastic. I made a few suggestions, and she incorporated most of them right there. Her interpretation of Jy'ty'tity (introduced in "Worse than a Gremlin"), in particular, is hilarious. Some of the characters she drew actually don't show up until books II and III of the series, but she wanted to draw them anyway. Our next meeting is set for the 26th to discuss the interior illustrations. Then we meet on April 30th to go over her sketches and discuss cover art. Then we wrap on June 25th when she turns it all in finished. So that's the plan.
