Three new haikus went up today. Tomorrow...merchandise galore!
What's new is this. I started working yesterday on getting Cry, Wolf digital for the purpose of an e-book. Xlibris Corporation issued an e-book that is now out of print and never sold a single copy. In fact, they never sold a copy of most of their e-books. It was just not a really marketable thing eight years ago, so they discontinued them. I, however, would like there to be an e-book in today's market of all my books.
As I began the tedious process of digitizing chapter I, I couldn't help but start fixing it up a little bit. I didn't mean to at this point, but here it is, and I've started the process. So, I might as well make the official announcement that there will be a second edition of Cry, Wolf in the very near future, and the e-book will be a part of that release.
I've actually had it in mind to do a second edition at some point for a while now. I'm going to polish up some of the punctuation and basic style, and I'm going to add a prologue that gets us into the werewolf aspect of the story much quicker. There is also that whole issue in the Mos Eisley Cantina on Tatooine. I've always felt that Greedo should have shot at the werewolf at least once before the werewolf ate him...but that could be tricky, considering that I'm going to replace all of the guns in the novel with walkie-talkies. Oh well, where there's a will, there's a way.
Actually, fans of my best-known novel need not worry. I won't be cutting anything out; I won't be replacing anything major other than maybe commas with periods and a few misused words with correct ones; et cetera. I may add a bit here and there, but Greedo will not be shooting first. (I love you George Lucas!) So hopefully there won't be anything for any of you to write nasty e-mails about. It's actually been sort of fun for me, revisiting it. It's like going back in time. I'm remembering what it was like to write it in the first place, not knowing if I had what it took or if I would even be able to finish it. I surely never thought I could really have come as far as I have in ten years. Was that sentence grammatically correct? Ah, it doesn't matter; I can always come back and fix it in a decade or so.

I haven't had much time for my scheduled writing tasks since the new book came out. This week I will try to get some research done for The Penny Dreadful.
I've heard nothing but positive feedback from readers who've had a chance to pick up Metrognomes. It's very encouraging to know that other people are enjoying the book as much as I do! I can hardly wait to really get to work on the next one.
I did receive my author copies on the 17th. The book looks fabulous! It's still not available in "walk-in" stores, but you can get it through just about any Online book store. I will let you know when the brick and mortar stores can get it, just as soon as I'm aware.
New haikus and Metrognomes "stuff" are on the way, though I'm not sure exactly what day. Keep checking back, and I suppose we'll find out together. :)

I recieved an e-mail from Amazon.com this morning informing me that Metrognomes. is now a part of their inventory. I checked Barnes & Noble, and they have it listed as well. This is much earlier than expected, which is great! Amazon actually lists an October 4 release date. iUniverse asked me not to do any real marketing work until I recieved my author copies and the book was listed in major book stores. I should get my author copies within the next week or so. This is terrific news, considering it wasn't expected to hit the big stores until some time between November 21 and January 2. Did I mention what a great Christmas present this book will make for absolutely everyone? :)

Drum roll please... My new novel Metrognomes: The Shaman's Apprentice. was officially released this afternoon! It won't be available through normal bookstores for a few more weeks, but you can order the paperback or download the e-book right now at the iuniverse.com bookstore.

It's been a busy few days. On Friday, I wrote a new haiku inspired by the short story I was working on. Haikus just happen to me sometimes. As for the short story, "The Dragons of Nod," it is coming along very well. Yesterday, Haiku #58 was posted. Today, the "Hollow Jane" mug and "Aries' Cage" posters went on sale. I have also updated the "In the works" page under "About the Author." This week, my work focus is doing research for The Chronicles of Nightfire, Texas. Now on to the really important stuff: it's my birthday today, and I'm going to pig out on sugar-free pumpkin pie! (God bless Splenda!) I'm 33, and I feel about 18. My mind is around 97, and my soul's pushing a million. Life is good.

The "Hollow Jane" mug that was supposed to be released this week has been delayed due to a problem with the image. Fear not, the headless naked lady mug should still be out in time to drink your witch's brew on Halloween.
As for Metrognomes; the printer is being set up for the novel een as we speak. I got all of the marketing materials in my e-mail this morning. I'm excited. Think I might pop.

When Glenn is a bad boy, however, he does NOT proof read, and he usually ends up spelling things like available more like "availible." Tragic! Did I mention that I would be utterly lost without Spell Check? You know you love me anyway! ;) I'm just so adorable.
So, yeah, that was fast. Metrognomes: The Shaman's Apprentice. will be published at last this. month! The book will be availible from the publisher's site possibly before I even get my. copies. After that, it will be availible through regular old book stores and online stores like Amazon.com in either November or December. Pretty exciting, eh?
Haiku #57 was posted today. Also, the "bibliograhy" was finally added to my "about the author" page. It lists everything I've ever been involved in that went public. Except for what it doesn't list. There was an issue, I think, of Group Magazine in the early nineties that I was interviewed in as a teenager. I need to find out what issue that was before it can be listed. It was a Walt Marcum article if anyone wants to try and dig it up in the library.
I sent in my approval of the proofs for Metrognomes: The Shaman's Apprentice today as well. I'll let you know what they tell me next, as soon as I know. Well, maybe not "as soon." I do have to log on to the Internet, log into my blog, then actually type it out, proof-read if I'm a good boy, then post it. So I lied. I will NOT let you know as soon as I know. However, I will let you know as quickly as I can.
This week I'm back to work on a short story that I'm presently calling "The Dragons of Nod." I started over a few weeks back, making the central characters a few years older. That seemed to do the trick, as far as fixing what wasn't working in my head, and now it's all flowing much better.
The new mug featuring a naked lady running around headless should be out this week as well. Keep your eyes peeled, if you have them. However, if you are yourself a headless person, I can't see what use you'd get out of a mug.
Peace out.
